  3. I have a similar doll with a cat head done in porcelain blue. Mine is about 11.5 inches tall, and is from Thailand. I got her around 1990. I can't guess at value, but similar dolls seem to have doubled their initial $15.00 or so price, to between $30.00 or 40.00. I haven't seen many, actually, and am intrested to hear of yours. They are unusual. Bette Ball made a cat headed doll in bisque with glass eyes for Goeble in the late 80s, too. I also have some other Thai dolls with blue and white china heads and traditional headdresses. The Haunted Doll Museum had one on its site called Suki. You have a very unusual kitty doll that serves as a cross-over collectible. Enjoy it!

  4. Hey I have an original Ella Cinders doll and aren't sure what it is worth. Any ideas?

  5. Hi, Emily; thanks for the comment. On eBay, if she is in good shape, she could go for anything. In older books, I've seen values of $400 for near mint dolls, but modern doll prices have dropped. A good book is Denise van Patten's price guide, put out in about 2009, or books on celebrity dolls. Denise as a newsletter at about.com under Doll Collecting with price guides, too. Good Luck.

  7. Hello, Tomas. Thanks for your comment; which doll specifically? The Golden Girl? I haven't seen these in too many price guides. MIB, I'm guessing she is worth about $35.00. I'm going on prices for comparable dolls from the same era. Try a site called Ghost of the Doll for more ideas. If it is another; let me know. I'll look at your URL, too. Just keep in mind I'm not an appraiser ! :)

  8. Thank You for the help. I found quite similar doll for $95. But my doll have scary look and lively eyes... (Full size doll photo) -->
    http://www.part.lt/img/86a7eb30702a24883db6ea74c168a2c8807.JPG

I'll try my luck on that site, and maybe I'll find out who and when created that doll. :)

  11. HI, I have stumbled across this interesting blog while searching for information on Original RAVCA dolls. I have three, I believe all from pre 1940.
One appears to be in very good condition. The other two are good.
Do you have any information on value, or resources which might help me learn more?
    Thank you, Sharon

    ReplyDelete
  12. Dear Sharon,

Pam and Polly Judd's book on European Costume dolls might be of help. Also, try Worth Point, on line, you have to pay membership, or for free, search Ebay and Etsy for prices. Books by R. Lane Herron include information on Ravca, as do doll books written during teh 50s to 80s. Also, try the National Institute of American Doll Artists Site, NIADA. I wrote to Ravca during the 70s when I was in school, and he answered me. It was a thrill. Good luck.
