need some help by christie

Hi, Christie. I would need to know if your doll has any markings, e.g., Made In Germany or Made in Japan, and what she is made of. A photo would really help. If she is bisque, she could have been made between around 1900 -1930, earlier, about 1905, if she is a German doll. Some German all bisque dolls are even earlier. If she is composition or hard plastic, she could have been made between 1930 and 1960, by any number of American, Japanese, or Hong Kong manufacturers.
Penny dolls are usuall one piece, or only with jointed arms and legs. Most are "frozen charlotte" types made in Japan, but there are German dolls, too.
Two books that might interest you are All Bisque and Half Doll by Genevieve Angione and All Dolls are Collectible, but Genevieve Angione. Price Guides by Denise Van Patten, Pat Smith, and Patsy Moyers are also good. Look up All Bisque dolls, storybook dolls, hard plastic dolls, composition dolls, foreign or international costume dolls. Good Luck!
