Janet Pagter Johl and Rock Hudson
I was surfing looking for information about Janet Pagter Johl, still one of my favorite authors on dolls. I found out that Rock Hudson had a copy of one of her books. Go figure. All you have to do to find the link is to Google her name. I'd love to find out more information about her as a person. She also wrote a child's book called Whilemina the Little Dutch Girl in 1941.

Greetings...
ReplyDeleteRe: Janet Pagter Johl
I am doing some research so that I can create some 'memory pages' for a friend as a Christmas
gift. I saw your mention (2011) of Janet Pagter Johl on Dr. E's Doll Museum blog and your wish to
learn more about Mrs. Johl as a person.
I grew up near the Johl's in Groton, Connecticut during the late '40s and 1950s, and Mrs. Johl took
me under her wing as a very young man because I showed a keen interest in puppetry. I was
befriended by all in her family and benfitted in many ways from her generosity.
If you are still interested in hearing about Mrs. Johl, I would be pleased to share what I can recall.
Interesting how I can't remember what happened last week, but the memories of my childhood are for the
most part still vivid.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Fred
