Beautifully put, as always, below, in his own words:

Dear Friends,
I love opportunity. And as I have touted for years, I truly believe that the key to “great collecting” is just that. Being an opportunist. Seizing a moment. Buying outside the fringe.
Let’s face it, the days of garage sale finds, eBay steals, and other varying dreams of grand moments are rare - if not completely over. Or are they?
In reality there are moments all around us. Even with Theriault’s, you will recall times when, in retrospect, you probably said to yourself “I wish I had bid at that auction.”
October is notorious for that. Quietly each year a lovely catalog like "A Matter of Circumstance" comes along and sits quietly in the spot right before the major events of New York in November and the anxiously awaited January events in Southern California. What does that leave?
Opportunity.
When people point out to me that they wish there were great dolls to buy that they did not have to fight for, tooth and nail, I always love to point out examples in the October event. In fact, many are amazed when I do. I hear it constantly, “Well, I would have paid that!” Or, “Why did I never notice this auction?” It’s simple really, sometimes you have events and auctions that are a bit off the radar of big branded weekends and which give many collectors a unique and glorious opportunity to buy amidst less hype and grandeur.
How timely. As the moment is arriving this very weekend. And, as much as you may think that I just spoiled the party - in fact I think you will find just the opposite. That is, that the party is about opportunity and is quite real. Besides, what do you have to lose? Nothing. What’s to gain? Beautiful dolls.
It’s all this weekend at the beautiful Arizona Biltmore, Waldorf Astoria Resort in Phoenix, AZ. If you can’t make it there (and what a shame if you can’t as Sunday has a must-be-there incredible Discovery Day to add to the whole weekend) you can bid online now or during the sale.
Either way I’ll be there and ready to have a fun and traditional Theriault's day with all of you. I love sharing these moments with you and, above all else, to allow every collector an “opportunity” to feel welcome and bring home a doll.
Regards,
