The Goldbergs and Cabbage Patch Dolls

Tonight's episode of "The Goldbergs" featured the CPK craze, complete with original footage from the 80s.  The kids had to choose one of their teacher's CPK dolls and pretend they were raising them as their own.  Knock-offs were addressed, real CPKs were featured, and it was as if time stood still.  My mom found my first CPK.  She waltzed right into our local KMart at the height of the craze, and found two rows of them.  She picked one up with no trouble and walked calmly to the cashier.  Hard to believe, but she did the same with Elmo and Furby.  She found Obi Wan and the much sought after Stormtrooper, too. it was a talent with her.  "The Goldbergs" features other vintage toys and action figures, too.  Another show that did that for some time was "That 70s show."  You just never know where a doll might turn up!
